We perform diagnosis/treatment of the urinary tract/male genital organs and treatment of adrenal disease with minimally invasive methods using the latest technology.

We deals with all of the phases of diseases of the urinary tract/male genital organs from diagnosis and treatment to after treatment follow-up. Regarding adrenal disease, we collaborate with the Endocrinology Division, especially for diagnosis, and handle all the surgical treatment. Recent medical advances are based on introduction of the latest medical equipment for minimally invasive surgery treatment. It is the Urology Division that uses these high-tech treatments including robotic surgery most aggressively in the field of surgery.

Fields of expertise

  • Robot-assisted surgery for prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney tumor
  • Microsurgery for malignant tumor of the urinary tract
  • chemical cure and molecular target treatment to progressive malignant tumor of the urinary tract
  • Injection of botulinum toxin into the bladder wall for neurogenic bladder

Diseases of interests

Tumorous disease covers all kinds of malignant tumors of the urinary tract (kidney tumor, pyeloureteroplasty tumor, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and testicular tumor), adrenal tumor and retroperitoneal tumor.

The main benign disease targets are urinary calculosis, urinary-tract infection, chronic kidney disease, disorder of urination (benign prostatic hypertrophy, neurogenic bladder, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence), and sexual dysfunction.

In cases of surgery treatment, we aim at minimally invasive treatment (robot-assisted surgery, microsurgery, and urinary passage endoscopic surgery) to the extent possible.

Principal treatment

  • Robot- assisted and lay-open total prostatectomy
  • Robot-assisted partial nephrectomy
  • Robot-assisted and lay-open radical cystectomy
  • Microsurgery and lay-open adrenalectomy
  • Microsurgery and lay-open nephrectomy
  • Microsurgery and lay-open partial nephrectomy
  • Microsurgery and lay-open total nephroureterectomy
  • Urinary diversion associated with radical cystectomy (ureterocutaneous fistula, ileal conduit, neobladder by using the intestine)
  • Molecular-targeted treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma
  • Multiagent chemotherapy for advanced bladder cancer and prostate cancer
  • Laser enucleation of the prostate
  • Transurethral resection of the bladder tumor
  • Transurethral ureterolithotripsy
  • Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy
  • Injection of botulinum toxin into the bladder wall

Principal test

For precise diagnosis of urinary tract and male genital organ diseases, in addition to blood/urine test and radiological image test, we perform the following urological tests.

  • Urinary tract endoscopic examination of the upper and lower urinary tract
  • Contrast study of the upper and lower urinary tract
  • Prostate biopsy
  • Endoscopic biopsy of the bladder, pelvis, and ureter
  • Urodynamic evaluation
