Final frontier for the protection of vision of the people in the San-in region Quality of vision for you

We have 22 staff members (15 of whom are ophthalmologists) covering the entire ophthalmologic fields from anterior eye to posterior eye. We introduce the latest technology/knowledge daily, maintaining the highest-quality treatment in Japan. We see about 150 patients per day and perform about 2000 surgeries per year. On the other hand, we also put emphasis on research, especially undertaking studies using molecular biological approaches on allergy, herpes, and intraocular neovascularization, many outcomes of which are published in international scientific journals.

Field of expertise

We covers all ophthalmologic diseases, creating a team for each field. We always introduce new treatments such as corneal endothelial transplantation and anti-VEGE therapy and photodynamic therapy for age-related macular degeneration and refractive surgery (which is rare for a university hospital). We also participate in many multicenter clinical trials for corneal infectious diseases.

Diseases of interests

  • Corneal and anterior eye disease
  • Vitreoretinal disease
  • Retinopathy of diabetes and ocular circulation disorder
  • Lacrimal passage
  • Glaucoma and cataract
  • Allergia
  • Tumor
  • Strabismus and amblyopia
  • Macula lutea degeneration
  • Retinopathy of prematurity etc.

Principal treatment

  • A wide variety of operations (cataract, glaucoma, vitreoretinal disease, strabismus and amblyopia, corneal transplant, etc.)
  • Refractive surgery (LASIK、PRK)
  • Anti-VEGF drug therapy for macula lutea degeneration (Handle as Medical Retina outpatient including photodynamic therapy)

Principal test

We appropriately combine many tests to study the function and structure of the eye. We perform anterior eye OCT that allows detailed analysis of a cross-sectional image of the cornea as advanced medical care.
