Operating Room
The operating rooms are located on the fourth floor in the outpatient clinic building. There are 12 operating rooms. There are bio clean rooms for artificial joint replacement surgeries as well as special operating rooms for endoscopic surgery. Advanced surgical equipment including the latest microscopes and endoscopes, cardiopulmonary bypass devices, ultrasonic echo, and navigation systems are in place so that all medical departments can provide cutting edge surgeries. For the purpose of admission to the operating room and for the safe and rapid improvement in the accuracy of patient identification, the department is currently promoting walking entry or wheelchair entry. For this reason, a photo gallery has been setup in the corridors of the operating rooms to make it more pleasing to the eyes of patients. Parents or guardians are also allowed to accompany infant in an effort to reduce the anxiety and fear in infant patients. In 2011, 6,549 operations were performed. Robot-assisted surgeries (Da Vinci operations) were started by the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery in October 2010, and have currently conducted operations on about 160 patients. One chief characteristic of the da Vinci operations performed by this hospital are that four departments - Urology, Gynecology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Respiratory Surgery departments work side-by-side during these operations. Dedicated operating rooms for the da Vinci surgeries are scheduled for completion in 2012.
